Blog 8: My favorite subject

  In this year and a half that I have been in university, the one that I liked the most has been cell physiology, I have always liked biology and studying it makes me especially entertaining, in this subject we study the cell, from its reproduction to its physical properties -chemicals and how these are related to others to form tissues, and these tissues together with others form organs and these form our body. From this field I have learned many things, how our body works and how cells react to the environment and I understood all the mechanisms that cells have to keep the body alive. When I was in the media thinking about what to study, I saw this subject in my career plan and I knew that I would like it very much, and so it was, also an acquaintance of mine spoke about what was studied and it caught my attention even more. I think that the study of the cell is of vital importance for my career since we study drugs and the action they have on the cell and organism

Blog 6: My mayor

When someone asks me about what I study, most do not know what it is about or the importance of what we are studying, in my mayor we study everything related to medicines, from their research, manufacture, transfer and dispensing. The importance of this is that we are constantly searching for new drugs and improving them in order to ensure that their consumption is safe and of high quality. Although it is a difficult mayor I really like it as it is strongly related to science. The impact that my mayor has with people is seen every day, although sometimes it is not very present, every time someone takes medication there is a pharmacist who developed that drug in a safe way to ensure good effectiveness and speedy recovery of those who consume it, as well as concerned about its correct use.

blog 5: My favorite photo

This photo is from Aculeo, a town where I grew up since I was 2 years old, it is important to me since it reflects the beauty of this land, which saw me grow up and where I have friends and family. I remember that day (in which I took the photo) it was raining, and the mountains looked incredible. I always go with friends to those mountains to ride a bike or simply to walk, it is one of the greatest sports attractions in my commune. With this photo, wherever it is, I will be able to remember my home and remember all the stories that it created in that place together with friends and family. The drought that affects this town has affected the beauty of the landscape, both its flora and fauna, but I will always remember it as it was in its best times of rain and when many people came to spend their vacations with their family.

A world of pizza: Blog 4

In a world where there are so many dishes and varieties, my favorite dish is pizza. The pizza is of Italian origin, it consists of a flattened dough (made of flour, yeast, water and salt) that is generally circular in shape, on top of this dough there is a series of ingredients to suit each person but the essential thing is always the cheese and tomato sauce; and all this cooked in the oven. This is my favorite dish since it has many ways to prepare it, you can experiment with the ingredients used to make it and that seems great to me, that there are so many variants. My favorites are Neapolitan pizza and pizza with mozzarella. Pizza Mozzarella Pizza Napolitana     The only bad thing about this dish is that it is classified as unhealthy due to the high number of calories it contributes to the body, although there are healthy pizza options (with little dough and more healthy ingredients).   My favorite technology Deciding this was complicated, I use both my computer and my camera a lot, but the camera has given me better moments for what is my favorite. I really like my camera because I can take many pictures of whatever I want and I can also invent new ways of taking photography. My photography group On weekends (or most of them) I go with my photography group to different natural places to take pictures of the environment so it helps me to get away a little from what is the world of the university and thus have a good time with friends. dragon-fly Although a camera is expensive and the accessories (such as lenses or zooms, tripod, etc.) are a bit expensive, it is very useful to save memories and to have an escape from the daily routine, and from personal experience I can say that buying one camera is a good decision.

Post 2: Why did I choose QyF?

  When I was a child I wanted to be a math teacher (how wrong I was) and I was good at teaching maths to my classmates, this dream lasted for many years until I reached high school, and there I discovered chemistry which I understood better than mathematics So there I became interested in a degree in pedagogy in chemistry or chemistry and pharmacy, so I always had those 2 options but I decided on QyF because it is a 100% scientific career and making experiments caught my attention. My experience at the university so far has not been the best that it could hvae been, due to the pandemic teaching has been online from home, something positive is that we had the opportunity to go to the laboratories to carry out experimental activities. After leaving university I would like to work in scientific research or start my own pharmacy, both of which appeal to me a lot.

Who is Benjamin?

 My name is Benjamin I am 19 years old, I study chemistry and pharmacy, I live in the commune of Paine, but I was born in Santiago. I really like to watch movies, my favorite is Harry Potter, I also like to listen to music and I would like to see a metallica concert.  They are my best friends Jeremías and Joaquín (Matías is missing, but we don't have a picture the four of us together☹), I have known them for 12 years and that photo was a little before the pandemic began. He is Rolo we rescued him from the street, he has been with us for a year and he is quite a character, he sits at the table to eat, he sleeps in the beds, he is practically a person, I love him very much ☹ I love photography, especially macro photography and nature.
